Jul 10, 2008 CLASSIC CLOSEOUTS complaint by Jre |

Page 1 of 2 On July 1, 2008 I noticed a charge from Classic Closeouts for $69.99 on my credit card. I checked my records and the last time I ordered from them was in May 2004! I have tried contacting them by phone and e-mail and have got NO response! I felt this compnay was reputable as I did receive what I ordered in 2004 promptly and it was of good quality. But this unauthorized charge and no response from the company has me wanting to let everyone know that if you have EVER ordered from them be on the look-out fro fraudulant charges.

Guys ,
I have the exact same problem. I bought something from classic closeouts in 2007 and in June (06/26/0 I see a transaction for $69.99 which I have no clue about. So I went ahead and disputed the charge and got my money refunded by chase but lo and behold the next month I see a new charge on my credit card for $79.99. I called up the chase customer service for some advice and they told me that if they rebilled you without contesting the earlier dispute then chances are that they do not want to contest the dispute. I was advised to keep disputing the charges until they finally give in. I tried their(classiccloseout) number 516-5381616 but after leaving 2 voicemails , on my third attempt I got a message saying that their number is not in service (within an hours time of leaving the earlier voicemails).

While checking my bank statement online yesterday I found that I had a $69.99 charge from classiccloseout.com. I found this strange because I had not ordered from them in approximately a year and that order was for less than $20. I called my bank which told me to get a hold of the company first. After 5 unsuccessful attempts at reaching someone I called my bank back. I am frantic because I am thinking this company must have been hacked into or something. After some internet research I find that there are many instances of this company doing this. I give this info to my bank for them to begin the investigation. I got a call back today 8/13/08 from the bank telling me that I had caught the second time they had done this because it shows that I had another charge for $49.99 from classiccloseouts.com on 6/25/08. I do not know how I did not notice $50.00 out of my account Sad to say but had they not tried to come back for more they would have had the $49.99 from me and I would never have been the wiser. They have stolen $120.00 out of my account in less than 2 months. Lucky for me I was still within the window of being able to dispute this. What a scam!

My credit card company noted two transactions on my account from CC (one yesterday and one in July 200 . They are removing the charges, but unfortunately I now am without a card until a new one arrives. I also ordered from these folks within the last year.

Check your statements, tell your friends and relatives, and this sounds like a class action lawsuit in the making...

Same deal. I just got a charge of $69.99 on my bank statement from classic closeouts, and haven't purchased from them in months! I can't get a hold of ANYONE in the company (which is strange) Luckily, my bank refunded me the money. STAY AWAY...

Same here. The charge was made on 7/20/2008 for $69.99. I made a single purchase about 3 years ago. This is just ridiculous that something like this can happen. Either Classic Closeouts' site got hacked, is not secure like it should be, or someone on the inside is stealing customer’s information.
